Naperville Big Band
The Naperville Big Band presents a free concert at Cantigny Park. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch along with lawn chairs or blankets for seating. The band is encouraging its guests to get up on their feet and dance during the concert.

'The King and I'
Summer Musical Theatre presents "The King and I," Rodgers and Hammerstein's classic 1951 musical about the British governess who develops a sometimes tenuous relationship with the king of Siam during the 19th century.

I spy an Iris
The Northshore Iris & Daylily Society's Daylily Show and Sale features more than 10 artistic arrangements and more than 50 daylily varieties in bloom. Iris and daylily plants range in price from $3 to $10 each.
10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, July 18-19, at the Chicago Botanic Garden, 1000 Lake-Cook Road, Glencoe. The show portion runs only on Sunday, July 19. Five-day fair
The Kane County Fair opens Wednesday, July 15, and features five days of old-fashioned fun. Farm animals, carnival rides, live music performances, a folk art festival and lots of food are just some of the highlights.
Noon to 11 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, July 15-16; noon to midnight Friday and Saturday, July 17-18; and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday, July 19, at the Kane County Fairgrounds, 525 S. Art in Town Center
An estimated 150 artists will have their work judged at the annual Buffalo Grove Invitational Fine Art Festival. Along with artwork, enjoy food and musical entertainment.
