Fox Valley briefs
East Dundee to lose pair of businesses
A pair of high profile businesses will soon leave East Dundee. Blockbuster, at 545 Dundee Ave., recently announced that it's shuttering the store this month. The store will cease renting movies from July 25. A manager at the store would not provide information other than to say it was a corporate decision. The village also recently received notice that the PNC/National City bank branch at 543 E. Main St., would close and merge operations with the West Dundee branch. The East Dundee location will close effective 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9.
Road rally to support troops

Registration starts at 9 a.m. A pancake/sausage or egg burrito breakfast will be offered at a small cost. The first vehicle will leave the VFW at 11:30 hours. Registration is $15 per person and all proceeds go to provide personal supplies for the troops serving in the Middle East and for mailing of the packages.
