Best & brightest

• Jessie Baird, a psychology major, was named to the Albion College dean's list for the spring 2009 semester. Students named to the dean's list must achieve a grade-point average of 3.5 at the completion of the semester. She is the daughter of Rich and Linda Baird of Palatine.

• Matt Corrado of Schaumburg, a 2006 James B. Conant High School graduate, was named to the dean's list at DePaul University, Chicago, for the winter quarter 2008-2009. He is majoring in finance.

• Cory DeGrave of Palatine was named to the dean's list for the fall and spring semester at Bellarmine University, Louisville, Ky. He is a 2008 graduate of Fremd High School and a member of the Bellarmine University men's soccer team.

• Conrad N. Kozuch, son of Robert and Cynthia Kozuch of Streamwood, graduated, magna cum laude, May 16, with a bachelor in science and a master's degree in entrepreneurship, from Bradley University, Peoria.

• Brittany Papworth, daughter of David and Debby Papworth of Hoffman Estates, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2008 and spring 2009 semesters at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Papworth is a biology and political science major.

• Brian Anthony Pettinato, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Pettinato of Schaumburg, was named to the dean's list at Western Illinois University, Macomb, for the spring 2009 semester.

• Kathleen M. (Katie) Schmid, daughter of Ray and Karen Schmid of Hoffman Estates, was named to the dean's list for the 2009 spring semester at Hope College, Holland, Mich. She is a 2006 graduate of Barrington High School.
