Graduating seniors from all three high schools in Community Unit District 300 will be on the radio Tuesday, June 2, to reflect on their high school careers and discuss current events. Kendall Lawson from Dundee-Crown High School, Robin Lasak from Jacobs High School and Allie Lattanzio from Hampshire High School will be guests on the People to People program from 8:15 a.m. to 9 a.m. on WRMN 1410 AM. Elgin residents are asked to attend a park planning meeting that will discuss designing a new park on Plank and Switzer roads and the city's plans to buy land to create another park on the city's east side along Ash Drive. Health care discussion
The public is invited to attend a discussion of health care reform at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at Control Alt Design, 1760 Britannia Drive, Elgin. Kay Gamble, a local health care reform activist is co-host of the event, which is designed to inform and engage people from all sectors of the community to learn about the current health care system directly from people who have experienced having to choose between prescriptions or groceries and housing or health insurance. And from small business owners struggling with providing health insurance to their staffs. Refreshments will be provided for the two-hour event by hosts Janice and Walter Raczynski and Kaye Gamble.
