Best & brightest

• Anthony Barbera, son of Mark and Cindy Barbera of Schaumburg, received dean's recognition for outstanding scholastic achievement at DePaul University. Barbera, a freshman, is pursing a degree in accounting. He is a graduate of James B. Conant High School.

• Matt Corrado of Schaumburg was named to the dean's list at DePaul University for the winter quarter 2008-2009. Corrado, a 2006 James B. Conant High School graduate, is majoring in finance.

• Conrad N. Kozuch graduated from Bradley University, Peoria, Ill., Saturday, May 16, with a bachelor's degree, in science and a mater's degree in entrepreneurship. Kozuch, who graduated magna cum laude, is the son of Robert and Cynthia Kozuch of Streamwood.

• Ryan Nelson, son of Bill and Becky Nelson of Deer Park, graduated from Purdue University, West Layafette, Ind., in May of 2009 with a degree in aeronautical and astronautical engineering.

• Brittany Papworth, daughter of David and Debby Papworth of Hoffman Estates, was named to the dean's list for the spring 2009 semester at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Papworth is a biology and political science major.

• Dana Swanson, a junior at Augustana College, Rock Island, was named Dahl Scholar for the 2009-10 academic school year. Swanson, an English and sociology double-major, is the daughter of Brian and Sue Swanson of Barrington and a 2006 graduate of Wauconda High School. The Dahl Leadership Scholarship recognizes a student for both academic achievement and student leadership.
