Lakes survives scare from Grayslake North

Lakes 3, Grayslake North 2: At Lakes, Jessica David scored with 1:55 left in the second overtime, as the top-seeded Eagles survived a scare in their Class 2A regional opener.

Grayslake North (7-13) led 2-0 on goals by Kim Shurtliff (penalty kick) and Alyssa Smith (assisted by Maggie Stojak), before Lakes rallied.

Ashley Neubeck's penalty kick pulled the Eagles within one, and Brittany Mooney took a pass from Sarah Bartlett and scored to tie the score at 2-2.

Lakes (13-7-1) will play at 11 a.m. Saturday in its own regional final against Grayslake Central.

Grayslake Central 12, CICS/Northtown 0: At Lakes, Melissa Kuehl scored 3 goals, and Megan LeBaron and Meaghan Daly each knocked in a pair for the Rams. Sarah Burnett, Alex Wilson, Brittani Risinger, Brittany Gibson and Hannah Risinger also scored for Grayslake Central (10-9).

LeBaron and Daly each added 2 assists.

Wauconda 2, Richmond-Burton 1: At Marian Central, Aimee Prudhomme and Tammy Ellis scored for the Bulldogs, who won in double overtime.

Wauconda (9-9-1) will play top-seeded Marian Central at 4 p.m. Friday for the Class 2A regional title.

Lake Zurich 6, Dundee-Crown 0: At Barrington, Hailey Chmela scored 3 goals for the Bears (9-9-4) in the Class 3A regional semifinal.

Gina McCoy had a goal and an assist, and Jenna Therrien added 2 assists for No. 2 Lake Zurich, which advances to Friday's 6 p.m. regional final against the host and top-seeded Fillies.

Regina 3, Antioch 2: At Antioch, Mallory Fracek scored both goals for the Sequoits in the Class 2A regional semifinal.

Antioch's season ended at 5-10-5.
