The sun always seems to shine on Fair Diddly!
Shop outdoors and browse through the artwork of more than 300 crafters from across the United States at the 41st Annual Fair Diddly juried craft show. Along with the artwork, visitors can peruse the plant sale or satisfy their hunger at local shops, that will serve everything from ice cream cones to pork chop sandwiches. Fair planners proudly state that Fair Diddly has never been rained out in 40 years, so let the sun shine!

Hot-dog gobblers and racing waiters
Visit the annual Taste of Glen Ellyn for carnival rides, crafts, musical entertainment and plenty of food. Stop by the hot-dog eating contest to see just how many "dogs" can be gobbled. For some offbeat entertainment, watch waiters - carrying trays of drinking glasses - race through an obstacle course. The high school-aged members of the indie rock band Flipside perform, and a magician, unicyclist and stilt walker will be on hand as well.

Elmhurst Museum Day
Four museums in Elmhurst will open their doors to the public free to celebrate International Museum Day on Sunday, May 17. The public can explore the Elmhurst Art Museum (at 150 Cottage Hill); the Elmhurst Historical Museum, 120 E. Park Ave.; the Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art, 220 Cottage Hill; and the Theatre Historical Society of America, 152 N. York, second floor. A free trolley is provided to shuttle visitors between museums every 20 minutes.

Senior Prom for All Ages
The Yorkville Big Band hosts its Senior Prom for All Ages: Big Band Dance. The event feature music from the 21-piece Yorkville Big Band along with a cocktail hour and dance lessons.

The annual Mount Prospect Jaycees Memorial Day Carnival features carnival rides, food and entertainment for all ages.
Runs Wednesday, May 20, through Monday, May 25 at Mount Prospect Plaza, Rand and Central roads, Mount Prospect. Opens at 6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, and 1 p.m. Saturday to Monday.
