Get in on the design:

The Dundee Township Park District invites public input at a design workshop for its new skate park from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, at the Senior Center, 665 Barrington Ave, Carpentersville. The skate park, which is scheduled to open in the late summer, will be constructed at Huffman Park, 811 Tartans Drive in West Dundee. Community members and potential skate park users are encouraged to attend the design forum. Hitchcock Design Group, which has offices in Chicago and Naperville, is the design consultant.

Violence counseling offered:

The Community Crisis Center in Elgin provides domestic violence counseling services for northwestern Kane County. A licensed counselor and is available to adult and adolescent females, and services are free. For information or an appointment, call (847) 697-2380.

Gospel concert for PADS:

First United Methodist Church in West Dundee is holding a folk and gospel concert to benefit PADS and the Community Crisis Center. The concert runs from 2-4 p.m. May 17 at the church, 318 W. Main St. Admission is one nonperishable food item that will go to the Crisis Center or a suggested donation that supports PADS. For details, call Jan Quisenberry at (847) 695-3915.
