Students to display winning art at ECC gallery
The arts are flourishing in the Fox Valley, and this week, the place to be is ECC.
Through Friday, visitors to Elgin Community College can view the work of 27 talented - and some award-winning - aspiring fine artists.
The student artwork is on display in the 18th annual ECC Juried Student Art Exhibition at the E. Max von Isser Gallery of Art.
The gallery is in the Student Resource Center on the ECC Main Campus, at 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
The juror for the exhibit was Leslie Baum, a Chicago artist who is affiliated with the Tony Wight Gallery in Chicago and whose work is part of the permanent collection at ECC and the Art Institute of Chicago. Of the 33 works selected, nine placed first and one won best of show.
