District 300 ends road show

Starting in the 2009-10 school year, the Community Unit District 300 school board will no longer hold board meetings at schools throughout the district. Several years ago, the school board started the practice to encourage more attendance and participation at board meetings. Board President Joe Stevens proposed ending the practice to save money. "We're no longer traveling to the schools," Stevens said Monday. "It became an expense." Unless otherwise noted, all school board meetings next year will be held in the board room in the district administration center, 300 Cleveland Ave., in Carpentersville.
