Board meeting

• The U-46 Board of Education meets at 7 p.m. Monday in Room 140 at the Educational Services Center, 355 E. Chicago St. in Elgin. The public is welcome to attend and provide citizen comments to the school board at the open meetings. For more information on the board, visit the "School Board & Community" link on the district Web site at www.u-46.org.

Bartlett High

• On Thursday, the school band students will present a concert at 7 p.m. in the Bartlett High School auditorium, 701 Schick Road. Seniors, age 62 and older, living in the district may attend U-46 plays and concerts for free if they pick up a platinum card from Paula in the Communications office. Call (847) 888-5000, ext. 5040 to order one now.

South Elgin High

• On Wednesday, the South Elgin High School band will hold a concert at 7 p.m. in the auditorium, 760 E. Main St. There will be a recognition for senior band members at 6:15 p.m. in the school cafeteria before the concert.

• On Thursday, the school will host the U-46 Middle School Honors Band Festival at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.

Streamwood High

• On Thursday, a Choral Concert featuring Tefft Middle School and Streamwood High School choral students, will be presented at 7 p.m. in the Streamwood High School auditorium, 701 W. Schaumburg Road. For information, contact David Hain at (630) 213-5535. Admission is $2 per adult and $1 per student. Seniors, age 62 and older, living in the district may attend U-46 plays and concerts for free if they pick up a platinum card from Paula in the Communications office. Eastview

• On Tuesday, an Eastview Middle School Band Concert, featuring the seventh-grade band, jazz lab students, and beginning "south" band, will be held at 7 p.m. at Bartlett High School, 701 Schick Road.

• On Wednesday, an Eastview Band Concert, featuring the eighth-grade band, Jazz Band, Intermediate band, and beginning "north" band students, will be held at 7 p.m. at Bartlett High School.

Kenyon Woods

• On Thursday, the Middle School Band Festival will be held at 7 p.m. at South Elgin High School, 760 E. Main St.

Tefft

• On Monday, a Spring Band concert will be presented at 7 p.m. in the Tefft Middle School auditorium, 1100 Shirley Ave., Streamwood. Students admission is $1, adult admission is $2, and a family admission is $6. Senior citizens and preschoolers get in free.

• On Wednesday, a Talent Show will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Tickets are $5 at the door. All proceeds go toward the eighth-grade cruise to Navy Pier.

Bartlett

• On Monday, sixth-grade students at Bartlett Elementary School will travel to Eastview Middle School for a morning of tours and orientation activities as they transition to middle school.

• On Thursday, the fifth-grade students travel to Springfield. Fundraising projects throughout the year by the students and their families provided the resources to cover the travel expenses for this annual trip. Students will visit the Lincoln Library, old and new state capitols, Lincoln's tomb and more.

Century Oaks

• On Wednesday, kindergarten to third-grade students at Century Oaks Elementary School will present their Spring Sing at 7 p.m. at Larkin High School, 1745 Larkin Ave., Elgin.

Horizon

• On Friday, the Horizon Elementary PTO will sponsor Family Movie Night at the school for Horizon students and their families.

Laurel Hill

• On Wednesday, come visit Laurel Hill Elementary School for their annual Community Resource Fair from 4 to 6 p.m. in the gym, 1750 Laurel Ave., Hanover Park. Many vendors will represent the community with information regarding services that they provide. There will also be giveaways.

Lincoln

• On Tuesday, a Spring Sing called "A World of Music" will be performed by Lincoln Elementary kindergarten to third-graders at 7 p.m. in the Elgin High auditorium, 1200 Maroon Drive, Elgin.

• On Wednesday, a Spring Sing called "A World of Music" will be performed by fourth- to sixth-graders at 7 p.m. in the Elgin High auditorium.

Lowrie

• On Thursday, first- to sixth-grade students at Lowrie Elementary School will present their Spring Sing at 7 p.m. in the Larkin High School auditorium, 1475 Larkin Ave., Elgin. Admission is free.

Timber Trails

• Throughout the week, Timber Trails Elementary School will celebrate their own Literacy Week. This year's focus celebrates the many cultures of Timber Trails. Many activities are planned, including the Scholastic Book Fair, Parent Reader Day, Guest Reader Day, Drop Everything and Read throughout the school day.

• On Thursday, Literacy/Multi-Cultural Night will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m., including performances, displays of student work, book raffles, and a multicultural "Heritage Museum." Food will also be available for purchase.
