Youth can audition for summer show

The Children's Theatre of Elgin and Fox Valley Youth Theatre are hosting auditions for a summer variety show, "Legends in Music." Auditions are for ages 7 to 20 that love to sing and dance. Auditions will be in the evenings starting Monday, April 27 to Thursday, April 30 at Elgin Community College, 1700 Spartan Drive. St. Thomas More hosts fundraiser

St. Thomas More Catholic Church is hosting a Texas Hold 'Em Tournament at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 25, in the school gym, 1625 W. Highland Ave. in Elgin. Buy-in is $50 with an option to re-buy after the first break. The grand prize is $1,000, with second place, $500; third place, $250; and fourth place, $50. Bowling outing to aid Rehab Center

Enjoy an afternoon of family fun at Raymond's Bowl from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 25. The cost is $35 per bowler and includes three hours of bowling, pizza and pop. Erik Hoary, the Rehab Center's VIP, will be there to test his bowling skills. For any businesses that are interested in a lane sponsorship for the event, the cost is $125.

All proceeds from Benefit Bowl will go to the Adult & Child Rehab Center in Woodstock. The Rehab Center provides physical, occupational, speech and lymphedema therapies, as well as nursing care to the residents of McHenry County. Raymond's Bowl is at 3960 Johnsburg Road in Johnsburg. Oak Crest hosts community dinner

Oak Crest and Atrium Apartments, 204 S. State St. in Elgin, hosts its "Community Dinner" at 6 p.m. today. Start spring off right with a dinner at the Oak Crest Cellar Pub. This month's buffet dinner menu will feature baked ham and chef's choice seafood selection accompanied by the season's fresh vegetables and a salad bar. For dessert, Chef JP's famous bread pudding, warm and topped with vanilla ice cream. Cost is $12.50 per dinner. Parking is available in the rear parking lot. In celebration of Earth Week, McHenry County's Green Team is hosting a "Going Green in the Office" Fair.

The fair includes Earth-friendly, green products and information on making your office green.
