Stevenson nets Lake County crown, sweeping Vernon Hills

Stevenson's boys volleyball team proved king of the county.

The Patriots won the Lake County Invite by sweeping Vernon Hills in Saturday's championship match, 25-19, 25-8.

Brad Feiger led the way offensively, rolling up 47 kills over five matches, which included wins over Libertyville, Highland Park, Antioch and Mundelein. Meanwhile, Jay Meisner was the team's defensive MVP in finishing with 62 digs and going 61-for-68 on serve receives.

Setter Brian Czosek rolled up 133 assists on the day for the Patriots.

For Vernon Hills, Ernie Choi rolled up a team-high 19 kills over five games while teammate Keegan Harris finished just behind with 16 kills. Quintin Anderson added a team-high 20 digs for the tournament.

Mundelein, which went 3-2 on the day, got a great 1-2 punch out of John McElligott and Mitchell Baumgartner, who tallied 33 and 30 kills respectively.
