Clean up gets federal boost:

The clean up of hazardous waste at the Outboard Marine Superfund site in Waukegan will be accelerated. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Wednesday said that $10 million to $25 million in new funding through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act will be made available to demolish the facility and excavate and dispose of soil and sediment contaminated with PCBs. It also will create good-paying jobs, according to the EPA. Superfund cleanups are major construction projects and new or expanded cleanup actions throughout the country are being implemented.
