Gifford Park potluck:
The Gifford Park Association in Elgin will be holding its annual membership pot luck at 6 p.m. Friday, April 17, in the Lords Park Pavillion. You do not have to be a member to attend. Bring a dish. There will be food and entertainment. E-mail francinecella@wowway.com with questions.
School hosts musical:
The Dundee-Crown High School music department is bringing the Elton John and Tim Rice musical "Aida" to the stage this month. The Carpentersville high school will host performances of the musical, based on the Verdi opera of the same name, at 7 p.m. on April 16, 17 and 19. Tickets cost $8 for adults and $6 for seniors and students. Tickets can be purchased at the Dundee-Crown main office and at the door. Call (224) 484-5250.

Dundee Township seniors looking for adventure have the opportunity to learn about a program geared toward people 55 and older who want to travel. Elderhost is the nation's largest educational travel organization for seniors. Ambassador Roger Loeffler will hold an informative session at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 11, at the West Dundee Public Safety Center II, at the corner of Route 72 and Sleepy Hollow Road.
Kane County rabies clinic:
The Kane County Animal Control Department has a rabies vaccination clinic for dogs and cats from 9 to 11 a.m. April 18, at the Kane County Animal Control Facility, 4060 Keslinger Road, Geneva. Fees are payable in cash or check: rabies, $15; county rabies tag, $10 (free to adults 65 or over); and microchip identification insertion, $15. Dogs must be on leashes, and cats in carriers.
