District 158 mulls policy:
A policy that would govern contract negotiations in Huntley Unit District 158 needs more work, officials say. The policy would require the district to publicly disclose contract proposals, provide updates on negotiations and post tentative deals three days before a vote. "This thing would have to be refined 10 times over before we could turn it into a policy," board Vice President Tony Quagliano said. Board members including Shawn Green and Larry Snow said the policy would enshrine good bargaining practices, while others like Kevin Gentry said it might weaken the district's hand.
