State to fix roads:

Nearly seven miles of streets in Elgin and East Dundee will be resurfaced this summer through part of a capital plan passed by state lawmakers. Rep. Keith Farnham of the 43rd Disdtrict said the improvements will be: about three miles along Route 58 from Shady Oaks Drive to Route 59; nearly two miles on Route 25 from Interstate 90 to Route 72; and about 1.5 miles on Weld Road from McLean Boulevard to Randall Road. The work will total about $3.75 million.

Park district hosts bingo:

The Huntley Park District is hosting bingo for park district residents 55 and older. Bingo will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. April 7. The free games will be hosted in the REC Center, 12015 Mill St. Refreshments will be provided. Call (847) 669-3180.
