Re-elect Vernon Twp Citizen's Party

Vernon Township voters have a choice April 7, 2009. The Township Citizen's Party of experienced candidates, or their opponents, Vernon Democrats for Change, an all-Democratic group.

As I sat at a local restaurant recently, the Democrats for Change happened to be there, fundraising and making claims that only strengthen my support for the Vernon Township Citizen's Party.

Their wanting to look at outsourcing jobs the highway department currently handles exceptionally well concerns me, a 20-year resident of unincorporated Vernon Township.

Unincorporated has not meant underserved to my family. Vernon Township's Highway Department lead by Commissioner Bryant Schroeder provides what I've personally witnessed, nothing but continued improvements and superior snow removal over many years.

The roads they meticulously maintain could not be served better by another. The township's roads are cleared of snow well before our neighboring villages. Outsourcing may not meet this level of excellence we've come to know, or save anyone a buck.

Our current highway department over the years has provided us with new sidewalks, culverts, storm sewers, detention areas and landscaping. Spring cleanups and electronic recycling collections of late handled completely by Commissioner Bryant Schroeder's Highway Department are a huge success.

Qualified, dependable, and always approachable, the highway department gets the job done, exceeding my expectations for many years. Vernon Township Supervisor William E. Peterson has gone the extra mile in providing an outstanding community pool and park, commuter train station and camp programs. Only with his leadership can Vernon Township continue to thrive. Please re-elect the Township Citizen's Party.
