District 300 unions host forum:
The unions that represent employees in Community Unit District 300 are sponsoring a forum at 7 p.m. today for candidates seeking a seat on the District 300 school board. The forum will be held at Jacobs High School, 2601 Bunker Hill Drive, Algonquin. Candidates will present opening and closing remarks and answer questions posed by union representatives and the audience. Call (847) 428-7640.

Elgin city officials are looking for volunteers interested in serving on several committees that will help shape the city's long-range sustainable city master plan. Volunteers may be from Elgin or surrounding communitiez and will serve in one of nine groups: transporation and mobility; urban design; water; parks and green infrastructure; recycling and waste management; green building technologies and energy conservation; alternative energy; economic development; and community outreach/education. Prom store opens Wednesday:
The Dundee-Crown High School Beta Club is holding its Kelly's Kollection prom store April 1 through 3 for students and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 4 for the general public. The club has been taking donations of new or gently used formal wear for weeks.The store sells discounted formal wear to Dundee-Crown students to ensure prom is affordable for all students. No item will be sold for more than $20. Donations can be dropped off at the school's counseling office through today. Call (847) 426-1321.
