Huntley wins again in Pepsi Showdown

In the Pepsi Showdown girls soccer tournament Saturday, Huntley won for the fifth time without a loss this season as Samantha Zobott and Aimee Wronski scored goals in a 2-0 win over Hersey. It was Wronski's eighth goal of the season. Sara Hoffman made 4 saves in goal for the Red Raiders, who advance to next week's quarterfinals against either New Trier or Lyons.

South Elgin 0, Hampshire 0: Emily Young made 4 saves and Alyssa Gemein 5 as the Storm kept Hampshire from reaching the back of the net. Alex Heinrich made 3 saves in the net for Hampshire.

Jacobs 1, Normal U-High 0: Kelsey Quitschau's first-half goal off an assist from Kristen Smith lifted the Golden Eagles to this win in the Pepsi Showdown. Alyssa Barnard had 5 saves in goal for Jacobs.

Fenwick 4, Larkin 1: Kelli Johnson scored Larkin's only goal in this Pepsi Showdown loss. Anna Goodlove made 12 saves in goal for the Royals.

Dundee-Crown 1, Harlem 0: Mallory Fryer's first-half goal stood as the game's only score as the Chargers (1-4) earned their first win of the season. Deanna Libricz made 6 saves in goal for D-C.

Bartlett 3, Rolling Meadows 1: Lauren Stevens, Jenny Paddock and Louisa Desario each scored goals for the Hawks as they moved to 6-0 for the first time in program history. Natalia Grodzki and Erin Zaideman combined for 5 saves in goal for Bartlett.
