Elgin seeks volunteers
Elgin city officials are looking for volunteers interested in serving on several committees that will help shape the city's long-range sustainable city master plan. Volunteers may be from Elgin or surrounding communities and will serve in one of nine groups: transportation and mobility; urban design; water; parks and green infrastructure; recycling and waste management; green building technologies and energy conservation; alternative energy; economic development; and community outreach/education. School seeks dress donations
The Dundee-Crown High School Beta Club is seeking donations of new or gently used formal wear for the club's annual "Kelly's Kollection" prom store. The store sells discounted formal wear to Dundee-Crown students to ensure prom is affordable for all students. No item will be sold for more than $20. The store will be open for students on April 1 through April 3 and will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 4. Sun City hosts forum
Del Webb's Sun City is hosting a forum for candidates seeking a seat on the Huntley Unit District 158 school board at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 28, in Drendel Ballroom, 12880 Del Webb Blvd., Huntley. Residents will be able to ask questions of the candidates. Candidates for the Huntley Area Public Library District, the Huntley Fire Protection District and Rutland Township will also be present.
