Cook County briefs
Ticket crackdown underway:
Maine Township has launched a new program to track down those with parking and other outstanding tickets. The township now can identify violators with more extensive state-provided information than in the past, officials said. Violators will be sent letters notifying them of failure to pay the fine by the due date. Violators may appear before an informal compliance hearing at dates beginning in April. Those who don't pay penalties or fail to appear for compliance hearings will have to appear in Cook County Circuit Court. To pay an overdue ticket in unincorporated Maine Township, call (847) 297-2510 or visit the township office at 1700 Ballard Road, Park Ridge, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays.
