Hear teachers play

The Geneva Music Faculty Recital is at 3 p.m. Sunday at Fox Valley Presbyterian Church, 227 East Side Drive, in Geneva. Admission is $5 per individual, $15 per family. A reception will follow. Performers include Kelly Coughlin, Jason Flaks, Chrissa Flaks, Kevin Henrickson and Chuck Torgett. All proceeds go to the Geneva Music Boosters Scholarship Fund.

'Beauty and Beast'

Geneva High School will present the musical "Beauty and the Beast" at 7:30 tonight and Saturday at the school, 416 McKinley Ave. All seating is reserved. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for students, children and senior citizens. To purchase tickets in advance, e-mail dhanson@geneva304.org (preferred) or call (630) 463-3838. The box office will open at 6:30 p.m. each evening and a limited number of tickets will be available at the door.

Garden seminar

Wasco Nursery & Garden Center, 41W781 Route 64, will have a "hardscaping" seminar Saturday to raise money for the Fox Valley Wildlife Center. The 10 a.m. event will include a presentation on landscaping walls, walks, patios and backing structures. Admission is a $5 donation to the wildlife center. To reserve a seat, call (630) 584-4424.

Tidal wave auction

St. Edward Central Catholic High School in Elgin will hold its 20th annual Tidal Wave Auction/Dinner Dance, with the theme "Fruit of the Vine," on April 4 at the Stonegate Centre in Hoffman Estates. Sponsorships and donations are being accepted for this largest fundraiser of the year. More than 300 are expected to attend. Cost is $80 per person, which includes dinner, dancing, silent/live auctions and an open bar. Items up for bid will include Michael Jordan and Derrick Rose autographed basketballs, a wine tasting party, sporting events tickets, several Chicago Bears autographed footballs, restaurant gift certificates, electronic products and more. Board seeks student talent

Students ages 5 to 18 are invited to enter the Aurora Hispanic Heritage Advisory Board's first El Talento de Aurora showcase April 25 at the El Dia de Los Ninos Festival. All performances are welcome, but must be appropriate for a young audience.
