Moretti's Pizza moves into old Govnor's Pub
Moretti's Ristorante and Pizzeria will soon deliver a slice of Italy to Lake in the Hills.
The family-owned restaurant has moved into the building that once housed Govnor's Public House on Randall Road. At the moment, workers are doing minor renovations inside the facility, Village President Ed Plaza said.
Moretti's, expected to open in four to six weeks, would mark one of the first sit-down restaurants in town that specializes in pizza.
The Lake in the Hills' location is Moretti's sixth - it also operates restaurants in Bartlett, Schaumburg, Fox Lake and Chicago.
Moretti's co-owner Mark Hoffmann said he's wanted to bring the family-friendly eatery to Lake in the Hills for quite a long time, but were waiting for the right opportunity.
"When Govnor's became available, it had the location and the perfect size to accommodate all the services Moretti's can bring to Lake in the Hills," Hoffmann said.
Govnor's Public House had been at 220 N. Randall Road for eight years before closing its doors for good last December, pointing to the faltering economy.
