District 300 starts track team
Community Unit District 300 is planning to start a track and field team for special needs students. Jim Blaseck, the Jacobs High School teacher who organized Special Olympics basketball at the Algonquin school last year, is organizing the team. Students from all three District 300 high schools are welcome to try out for the team. Call (847) 658-2500 by Friday, March 20.
Parents host music luncheon
Dundee-Crown Parents of Music Performers are hosting their fourth annual fundraiser for the music programs at the Carpentersville high school. The "Music Changes Lives" concert will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 15, at Randall Oaks Golf Club, 4101 Binnie Road. The concert will feature performances from the Dundee-Crown chamber orchestra, jazz band and chamber choir. A silent auction will benefit scholarships for student musicians.
