County seeks doctor for Health Board

The deadline is Wednesday for physicians to apply to the McHenry County Board to fill a vacancy on the county's board of health. Application forms are available at the county board office of the McHenry County Government Center, 667 Ware Road, Woodstock, or online at co.mchenry.il.us. Prison for Crystal Lake robbery suspect

A 21-year-old Crystal Lake man was sentenced to three years in prison Monday after pleading guilty to allegations he robbed an acquaintance at a motel in September. Kurt R. Sahlberg admitted guilt to the Class 2 felony charge that claimed he and a co-defendant forced their way into the victim's room, beat and kicked him repeatedly and then stole $262 cash, a mobile phone and a $50 prepaid credit card. Sahlberg's co-defendant, Brandon J. Kempkens, 21, of Lake in the Hills, was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to robbery and a related drug charge in January.

Torres to hold open sessions
