Enjoy annual Night of Pasta and Pops Concert at Bartlett high

Bartlett High

• On Thursday, Feb. 19, the ninth annual Night of Pasta and Pops Concert will start at 5:30 p.m. in the Bartlett High School cafeteria, 701 Schick Road. It will continue with the band concert at 7:30 at the auditorium. Ticket prices are $8 per adult for pasta and concert; $5 for kids, age 12 and younger, for both events; $6 per adult for pasta only; and $4 per child, age 12 and younger, for pasta only.

Streamwood High

• On Thursday, Feb. 19, a Pasta Dinner and Solo Night will be held at 6 p.m. in the commons of Streamwood High School

Abbott

• On Friday, Feb. 20, Abbott Middle School students achieving the top 10 percent or "B" honor roll will attend the annual Honors Breakfast at 7 a.m. in the commons, 949 Van St., Elgin. The breakfast is hosted and prepared by the staff. Principals and fifth- and sixth-grade teachers from the feeder schools will be invited to attend, as well as central office administrators and principals of South Elgin and Larkin high schools.

Eastview

• On Wednesday, Feb. 18, Eastview Middle School band students will present a concert at 7 p.m. at Bartlett High School, 701 Schick Road.

Larsen

• On Thursday, Feb. 19, Larsen Middle School orchestra students will present a concert at 7 p.m. at the school, 665 Dundee Ave., Elgin.

Garfield

• On Wednesday, Feb. 18, Garfield Elementary School will sponsor Career Days at 9 a.m. in the Resource Center, 420 May St., Elgin. Elgin Mayor Ed Schock will speak to fourth-graders as part of the celebration.

Liberty

• On Friday, Feb. 20, third- and fourth-graders at Liberty Elementary School in Bartlett will visit the Hemmens Auditorium to see "Color of Justice." Students will experience the performing arts and the African-American struggle for equality.

Spring Trail

• On Saturday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m., the Spring Trail Elementary PTO is sponsoring a Candlelight Bowl fundraiser for adults only at Wheaton Bowl.

Timber Trails

• On Friday, Feb. 20, the Timber Trails Elementary PTO Board will sponsor a Family Movie Night, featuring "Kung Fu Panda."

Washington

• On Friday, Feb. 20, the Washington Elementary PTA will sponsor Bingo Night from 6:00-7:30 p.m.

Wayne

• On Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 7 p.m., the Wayne Elementary parent/teacher group will sponsor an informational meeting for parents of fifth-graders in anticipation of the Robert Crown Program their children will experience titled "Life Begins."

In other news

• On Tuesday, Feb. 17, an opening reception for the U-46 high school juried art exhibit, will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at First Community Bank at 50 Tyler Creek Plaza, Elgin. The exhibit will remain on display through March 10. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Thursday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays, and 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays.
