St. Edward rallies for win

Down 25-24 at the half, St. Edward (8-15, 3-8) rallied for a 20-point third quarter to go ahead of Montini and eventually claim a 52-50 Suburban Catholic Conference victory Friday night.

Helping the Green Wave tally back-to-back wins was offensive leader Riley Coleman, who posted 19 points to lead all scorers. Steve Martin (11 points) and Phil Johnson (10 points) each reached double-digits to assist in the cause.

Morgan Park Academy 70, Elgin Academy 57: Jivon McDonald scored 19 points to lead Elgin Academy (5-16, 2-9), but it wasn't enough as the Hilltoppers fell in Independent School League action. Paul Leonardis (14 points) and Connor Flexman (11 points) contributed for EA.

Mooseheart 52,Westminster Christian 51: Mike Nicosia tallied 19 points including four 3-pointers to keep Westminster Christian in the hunt, but Mooseheart was able to tie things up forcing an overtime where the Warriors (14-9) fell in nonconference play. Ryan Beachler contributed with 12 points for Westminster.

Burlington Central 53, North Boone 48: The Rockets used defense to push past North Boone (6-13, 3-5) for a Big Northern East win. Mark Mastio recorded a team-high 15 points for BC (11-10, 5-3). Shane Larkin posted 13 points and Ray Hunnicutt 12.
