Bartlett High
• On Wednesday, the Bartlett High School orchestra will present a concert at 7 p.m. in the auditorium, 701 Schick Road.
Elgin High
• On Wednesday, the Eastside Choral Festival will be presented at 7 p.m. at the Elgin High School auditorium, 1200 Maroon Drive in Elgin. Participating schools are: Elgin High; Ellis and Larsen middle schools; and Channing, Coleman, Hilltop, Huff, Lincoln, Lords Park, McKinley, Sheridan and Timber Trails elementary schools.
Larkin High
• On Tuesday, senior students in the Larkin High School Visual and Performing Arts Academy will present their senior recital at 7 p.m. in the auditorium, 1475 Larkin Ave., Elgin. They will perform vocal and instrumental pieces.
Streamwood High
• On Friday and Saturday, the music department presents "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" at 7 p.m. in the Streamwood High School auditorium, 701 W. Schaumburg Road. All tickets are $8. For special accommodations or ticket details, call (630) 213-5550, ext. 4907.
Abbott
• On Thursday, the Winter Orchestra Concert will be presented at 7:30 p.m. in the Abbott Middle School gym, 949 Van St., Elgin. Students from fourth through sixth grades from the feeder schools (Harriet Gifford, Hillcrest, Lowrie, Otter Creek, and Washington) will also participate.
• On Friday, a Spring Dance will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at the school.
Canton
• On Tuesday, the Canton Middle School orchestra along with students from the feeder schools (Glenbrook, Hanover Countryside, Hilltop, Oakhill, and Ridge Circle) will present a concert at 7 p.m. at Streamwood High School, 701 W. Schaumburg Road.
Eastview
• On Thursday, an Eastview Middle School Orchestra Concert will be presented at 7 p.m. in the Bartlett High School auditorium, 701 Schick Road. Besides Eastview, fourth-graders from Prairieview, Spring Trail and Sycamore Trails elementary schools will perform.
Bartlett
• On Tuesday, a Bartlett Elementary School Orchestra Concert will be presented at 7 p.m. in the Bartlett High School auditorium. Fourth-grade students from Bartlett, Centennial, and Hawk Hollow will perform. Also featured is "The Hawk Hollow Fiddlers."
Creekside
• On Monday, Creekside Elementary School students in kindergarten through third grades will present a choral program at 7 p.m. at Larkin High School, 1475 Larkin Ave., Elgin. Choral students in fifth and sixth grades will also perform.
Fox Meadow
• On Monday, the Fox Meadow Elementary School third-graders will visit the planetarium in Elgin.
• On Monday through Thursday, the Scholastic Book Fair will be held during school hours. Family Night is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
Liberty
• On Monday, kindergartners will present a musical at 6:30 p.m. in the Liberty Elementary School gym, 121 Naperville Road in Bartlett.
• On Monday and Tuesday, the first-graders will visit the Bartlett Public Library.
Spring Trail
• On Wednesday, Muffins with Moms will meet at 7:30 a.m. in the Spring Trail Elementary School commons area, 1384 Spring Valley Drive in Carol Stream. Students get to eat with their moms, then go to the Book Fair until school starts at 8:30 a.m. The book fair continues during school hours and is open until 7 p.m.
• On Thursday, the Book Fair will also be held from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
In other news
• Four U-46 high schools recently participated in the Upstate 8 debate and speech tournament held at South Elgin High School on Jan. 31. Team awards went to Bartlett High School with third place and South Elgin High School tied for fifth place.
