Boles to seek re-election

Kane County Judge Susan Clancy Boles announced that she will seek re-election in the 16th Judicial Circuit Court's 4th subcircuit during the election on Feb. 2, 2010. Boles graduated from St. Charles High School in 1983 and was a practicing trial lawyer in the Tri-Cities for 17 years before she was named associate judge in 2007. She currently presides over abuse, neglect, mental health and adoption cases. The 4th subcircuit includes Batavia, Geneva, St. Charles and southern South Elgin. Her Web site is judgeboles.com.

Clerk holiday closings

The Kane County Clerk's Division of Vital Records and Tax Extension will be closed Thursday, Feb. 12 for Abraham Lincoln's birthday and on Monday, Feb. 16 for President's Day.

Flood insurance available

Campton Hills residents can now purchase insurance through the National Flood Insurance Program. Coverage of up to $250,000 is available for a residential building and $100,000 for its contents. Commercial properties are limited to $500,000 in coverage. Borrowers' properties must be in a designated flood hazard area; there is a 30-day waiting period before coverage takes effect.
