Fox Valley roundup: Hampshire wins again

Hampshire 70, Harvard 42: Junior guard Justin Bieber led the Whip-Purs to victory over Harvard (3-17, 2-8) sinking five 3-point shots in just the first quarter on his way to 17 points. Hampshire (14-6, 8-0) led at the half 44-14. James Goebbert posted 15 points. Mike Kozenczak and Ryan DeChant each contributed 9 points in this Big Northern East Conference victory, the Whips' ninth straight win.

Elgin Academy 80, Roycemore 51: The Hilltoppers (4-14, 1-7) stepped up giving a total team effort led by Jivon McDonald and Aaron Thomas each posting 22 points on the board for EA. Drew Stewart (18 points) and Patrick Martinak (14 points) also contributed to this nonconference win.

Streamwood 64, Grant 50: The Sabres defeated Grant (11-8) in this nonconference matchup. Leading for Streamwood was junior Marcus Lewis posting a team high 18 points on the board. Derrick King also added 9 points for the Sabres (9-10,3-4).

Prairie Ridge 44, Huntley 43: The Red Raiders fell just 1 point shy of a victory over Prairie Ridge who now remains undefeated (13-7, 5-0) in the Fox Valley (Fox) Conference. Depite a tough loss Jordan Neukirch led for Huntley with a team high 18 points. Zac Boster and teammate Brett DePorter each contributed 6 points for the Red Raiders (12-8, 2-2).
