Board meeting
• On Monday, the U-46 Board of Education meets in Room 140 at the Educational Services Center, 355 E. Chicago St. in Elgin. The public is welcome to attend and provide citizen comments to the school board at the open meetings. For details on the board, visit the "School Board and Community" link on the district Web site at www.u-46.org.
School holiday
• On Friday, there will be no classes for Institute Day.
Larkin High
• On Friday and Saturday, performers from the Larkin High School Visual and Performing Arts Academy will present their annual "Bring a Book to Life" production. This year's show, "Hansel and Gretel"will feature senior dancers Jessica Behning and Veronica Woodruff in the lead roles. Show times are 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and also a matinee at 3 p.m. Saturday at the high school, 1475 Larkin Ave, Elgin. Ticket prices are $ 8 for adults and $5 for children and seniors.
Streamwood High
• On Thursday to Saturday, the Streamwood High School music department presents "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" at 7 p.m. in the auditorium, 701 W. Schaumburg Road. All tickets are $8. For special accommodations or for ticket details, call (630) 213-5550, ext. 4907. The show will also run Friday, Feb. 13 and Saturday, Feb. 14.
Huff
• On Thursday, a health clinic for children birth through 18 years of age will be held from 3:45 to 6 p.m. at Huff Elementary School, 801 Hastings St. in Elgin. The clinic is sponsored by U-46 and the Greater Elgin Family Care Center.
Liberty
• On Thursday, fifth- and sixth-grade students at Liberty Elementary School will see the production of "Frindle" at the Metropolis Theater in Arlington Heights. They have already read and discussed the book.
Ontarioville
• On Tuesday, a health clinic for children birth through 18 years of age will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. at Ontarioville Elementary School, 2100 Elm St. in Hanover Park. The clinic is sponsored by U-46 and the Greater Elgin Family Care Center.
Sheridan
• On Wednesday, a health clinic for children birth through 18 years of age will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. at Sheridan Elementary School, 510 Franklin Blvd. in Elgin. The clinic is sponsored by U-46 and the Greater Elgin Family Care Center.
Wayne
• On Saturday, the Parents and Teachers of Wayne will sponsor a Dad/Daughter Dance at 7 p.m. in the Wayne Elementary School gym, 5N443 School St. Desserts will also be provided.
