Union picks teachers of the month:

The Huntley Education Association, the teacher's union in Huntley Unit District 158, has selected the teachers of the month for January. Tricia Baltzersen, a sixth-grade teacher at Marlow Middle School, is the teacher of the month from the Reed Road campus. Donna Kunz, the Huntley High School nurse, is the teacher of the month for the Harmony Road campus. Brandi Wargo, a third-grade teacher at Conley Elementary School, is the teacher of the month for the Square Barn Road campus.

Applebee's hosts fundraiser:

Applebee's restaurants in Lake in the Hills and Crystal Lake are hosting a fundraiser for a Jacobs High School student with physical disabilities. The fundraiser will benefit Paul Pietrowski and will help cover the cost of treatment for his muscular dystrophy. Park district hosts bingo:

The Huntley Park District is hosting bingo for park district residents 55 and older. Bingo will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Feb. 3, March 3 and April 7. The free games will be hosted in the REC Center, 12015 Mill St. Refreshments will be provided. Call (847) 669-3180.
