Hampshire moves to 18-4

The Hampshire girls basketball team ran its record to 18-4 Thursday night with a 45-24 nonconference win at Genoa-Kingston.

Alex Dumoulin led the Whip-Purs with 11 points while Christina Heine and Christine Schumacher added 11 each.

Girls basketball

North Shore 51, Elgin Academy 45: Alex Lee led Elgin Academy (9-11, 0-6) with 13 points in this Independent School League loss. Lauren Steimle scored 11 for the Hilltoppers, while Ashley Baines and Alyssa Pena had 10 each.

Women's basketball

Lake County 62, ECC 49: Elgin Community College fell to College of Lake County in the ISCC, despite getting 14 points from Sophie Sterricker. Lauren Gabler added 12 for the Spartans.
