Last day to register

Today is the last day to register if you want vote in the Feb. 23 primary. The Kane County Clerk's office, 719 S. Batavia Ave., Geneva, is open for registration from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Most libraries and municipal and township offices in Kane County also accept registrations. To register, a person must be a U. S. citizen, 18 years old by the date of the election and a resident of the precinct for 30 days before the election. You must provide two forms of identification, one of which shows a current address. For more information, call (630) 232-5990.

Scout pasta dinner

Boy Scout Troop 32 of West Dundee is holding its annual pasta dinner on Saturday, Feb. 7. Dinner will be served between 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. at the Bethlehem Community Ministry Center, 417 W. Main St., West Dundee, IL. Tickets are available at the door.

MCEDC launches 2009 wage survey

The McHenry County Economic Development Corporation this year will again produce a McHenry County Wage, Benefit and Salary Survey. The 49th edition of the annual survey will track local wages in manufacturing and nonmanufacturing sectors, and provide a breakdown salaries in three sections: executive level, factory and office positions. Any McHenry County business may participate in the survey for no cost beginning Feb. 1 through March 15. Results, available April 15, are free to all participants. Non-participants may purchase survey results for $250 by contacting the MCEDC. The survey can be accessed at the agency's Web site, www.mcedc.com.
