Elgin notches 2nd straight win
The Elgin girls basketball team won its second straight game Saturday, knocking off Rockford Guilford 68-33 in a nonconference game at Chesbrough Field House.
Caris Alan led the Marons (5-15, 2-5) with 20 points and Ellen Holton scored 15. Brandi Hernandez and Janelle Scruggs-Bagley each had 8 points for Elgin and Alex Haugan pulled down 8 rebounds.

Elgin Academy 41, Woodlands Academy 23: Scoring a team-high 12 points, Alex Lee led the Hilltoppers (8-10) to victory over Woodlands Academy. Elgin Academy senior center Kristin Cella recorded 8 points in the Independent School League win.
Hoffman Estates 51, Huntley 39: Kadie Lowery led Huntley with 11 points but the Red Raiders (12-9) fell to Hoffman Estates in nonconference action.
