District 300 hosts hearing

Community Unit District 300 is hosting a public hearing on Superintendent Ken Arndt's proposal to hold classes on Veterans Day, celebrated on Nov. 11. District officials say the district is one of the few in the area that does not have school on the holiday. Officials hope to use the day as a way to educate students about veterans and honor local veterans. The hearing will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, at the administration center, 300 Cleveland Ave., Carpentersville. The school board is scheduled to vote on the matter immediately after the public hearing.
