Westminster splits at tourney
The Westminster Christian girls basketball team split its games Monday to take second place at its own Marin Luther King tournament.
The Warriors defeated Mooseheart 39-34 and then lost the championship game to Keith School of Rockford 51-43.
Westminster's Rachel Doby was named co-MVP of the tournament after scoring 13 points against Mooseheart and 17 against Keith. Sarah Rodgers led the Warriors (3-11) with 14 points against Mooseheart. She added 9 points against Keith and was named to the all-tournament team.
Keith's Trinesha Cornell, who scored 16 points against Westminster, shared the MVP honors with Doby.
