Dad, daughter dance planned

The South Elgin Parks and Recreation Department and FUNdation will host its annual Daddy Daughter Dances from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 21 and Feb. 28 at Corron Elementary School, 455 Thornwood Way, South Elgin. Registration is $35 for residents and $40 for non-residents. The night includes a craft, snacks, drinks and a goodie bag. The event is open to girls ages 3 to 12. It's a fire hazard now

For Carpentersville residents not sure what to do with the Christmas tree that's shedding dried pine needles around the living room, the village's waste disposal provider will collect trees until the end of January. ARC Disposal will pick up trees from the curbside until Thursday, Jan. 29.

U-46 conversations with super rescheduled

The Jan. 15 session of Conversations with Dr. Torres, a bi-monthly meeting for parents and others in the community, has been postponed to 6 p.m. Feb. 12 in the library of Bartlett High School, 701 Schick Road.

Legislative forum cancelled

The Centegra Health System Nursing Council's Legislative Forum that had been scheduled for this Friday, Jan. 9, has been cancelled. The legislators have all been called to Springfield for a special session and therefore could not attend the forum as originally planned. The forum may be rescheduled.
