Perihelion celebration Jan. 10

You are cordially invited to Small Waters Education's "Perihelion Possibilities Celebration" on Saturday, Jan. 10 at the Small Waters Gathering Center, 15820 Route 173, half-mile east of Aden Road, four miles west of Route 47 in Alden.

As the earth's orbit brings it closest to the sun, attendees will explore their relationship with the amazing story of life, and the present moment (known as the Great Turning) where they turn to new possibilities for positive change.

At 10:30 a.m., there will be a video presentation, "Mycelium Running: How Mushrooms Can Save the World" with Paul Stamets of Fungi Perfecti.

It will be followed at noon by a potluck lunch. Bring a dish to share, beverages are provided.

From 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., there will be a presentation on the Great Turning, an outdoor guided nature meditation, Grandmothers Dancing the Creation of the Universe performance, contemplation and sharing circle, song and festive celebration.

Attend the morning or afternoon session, or both.

There is no fee for this event. However, freewill donations to Small Waters Education will be gratefully accepted.
