Wheeling, Fenwick set for big showdown

State-ranked Wheeling and Fenwick will go into today's championship game of the Niles North tournament with undefeated records.

Tip-off is set for approximately 7 p.m.

In this week's state poll, Fenwick (4-0) is ranked No. 3 while Wheeling (5-0) is No. 4.

The Wildcats improved to 4-0 in the tourney with a 52-37 triumph over Proviso East.

Purdue-bound Ashley Wilson collected 20 points, 22 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocks for the Wildcats.

Teammate Bianca Szafarowicz collected 15 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 assist while Janelle Cannon added 9 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists 2 steals and a blocked shot.
