Biggins wins 10th term in state House

When voters go to the polls, Elmhurst Republican Bob Biggins said they're giving him a grade for his previous term.

Biggins got another passing grade Tuesday as voters appear to have elected him to his 10th consecutive term in the Illinois House.

Biggins appears to have defeated Green Party opponent Kevin O'Connor in the 41st House District.

With 124 of 126 precincts across Cook and DuPage counties reporting, Biggins led with 67 percent of the vote compared to O'Connor's 33 percent, according to unofficial vote totals late Tuesday.

"My constituents out here in the West suburbs follow their legislators and grade us every two years," Biggins said. "My people are receptive to me because I listen when they talk to me."

O'Connor, a 24-year-old from LaGrange Park. ran his campaign strictly on the Green Party platform.
