• Author Mary Tillman will discuss her book "Boots on the Ground by Dusk: My Tribute to Pat Tillman," at noon today, Oct. 28, at College of DuPage, SRC 1450, 425 Fawell Blvd., Glen Ellyn. Tillman's son, Pat, left his career as a professional football player to enlist in the U.S. Army. He was killed by friendly fire in Afghanistan in 2004. The event is free and open to the community. • The Friends of the Villa Park Public Library's annual murder-mystery event "Reality Bites Back!" will be performed at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, and Saturday, Nov. 1, and at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, in the library annex on the northeast corner of Ardmore and Central avenues, Villa Park.
