Pet Rescue decision delayed
A DuPage County judge may rule Wednesday whether to order Pet Rescue officials to allow an independent authority to check on their animals to ensure they are being properly cared for now that the Bloomingdale no-killer shelter lost its state operating license.
Prosecutors are not seeking to seize the animals, but they want either a county animal control officer, police or state official to be allowed to make regular, unannounced visits with a licensed veterinarian to ensure the animals have the necessary food, water, shelter and care.
The case was in court Friday, but was delayed until next week because of a legal procedural technicality.
