Briefs: Fundraiser set for Team Trish

Black Tie Affair Day Spa and Salon in Bartlett will hold a fundraiser from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, to benefit Team Trish, a campaign supporting Hanover Township community health nurse and cancer patient Trish Simon. Local artist Gina Freehill will sign her purchased work for a $10 donation. All the money collected and part of the proceeds from salon services go to Team Trish and the development of a foundation to help others in need. The salon is located at 215 S. Barrington open house

The Barrington High School fine arts department hosts this year's open house, "Blast Off," from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, at the high school, 616 W. Main Street. The event features continuous performances from students in vocal and instrumental music, dance and theater. There will also be open art studios in which teens will demonstrate a variety of techniques, including painting, metal-smithing, ceramics and photography. District 15 free screenings
