Tollway work will close Naperville Road this weekend

Naperville Road, from Diehl Road to Warrenville Road in Naperville, will be closed to all traffic Saturday and Sunday, officials said Wednesday.

The road will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday.

City officials said the closure is required to perform demolition work on the Reagan Memorial Tollway bridge over Naperville Road as part of the interchange improvements being made by the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority.

Traffic on I-88 will not be affected.

During construction, traffic on northbound Naperville Road will be detoured to westbound Diehl Road, north on Washington Street and back to Naperville Road via eastbound Warrenville Road. Southbound traffic will follow the same detour route in reverse.

Eastbound access to I-88 will be maintained via the entrance ramp from northbound Naperville Road.
