Good Shepherd to hold blood drive
Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in conjunction with LifeSource Blood Services will hold a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6 in the Prairie Room. Good Shepherd hospital is at 450 W. Route 22 in Barrington.
To be eligible as a donor you must be 17 years old (16 years olds may donate with written parental consent), a minimum of 110 pounds and in good health. The procedure is safe, quick and easy. The entire process, from registration to refreshments, takes about 45 minutes with the blood donation running from five to seven minutes. All supplies are sterile, used only once and carefully discarded.
LifeSource, the largest full-service blood center in Illinois and one of the largest in the United States, is a not-for-profit organization that serves patients in Cook County and the six counties surrounding it.
