•Nicholas R. Daymude, 28, 120 Breezy Point Lane, Fox Lake, was arrested July 17 and charged with forgery and acquisition and possession of a controlled substance after he used a forged prescription form to purchase prescription medications at Walgreens, 460 E. Washington St., police said. A court date was not available.

Gurnee

•A vandal hurled a rock through the rear window overnight July 20-21 on a 2002 Ford work van parked on the 1300 block of Sonoma Court, police said. A damage estimate was not available.

•Vandals wrote graffiti with black spray paint overnight July 20-21 on playground equipment in Shaw Park, 1423 Belle Plaine Ave., police said. Damage was estimated at $100.

Hawthorn Woods

•Vandals drove over a mailbox overnight July 9-10 at a home on the 0-100 block of Tournament Drive North, police said. A damage estimate was not available.

Lake Zurich

•Thieves stole stationery July 17 from a business on the 100 block of Oakwood Road, police said. Value was estimated at $110.

•Michael J. Novak, 24, and Dawn M. Britton, 22, both of 257 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake, were arrested around 4 p.m. July 18 and charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop on Route 12 at South Old Rand Road, police said. Novak also was charged with possession of marijuana and traffic violations, reports added. Their Waukegan court date was set for Aug. 25.

Libertyville

•Brooke A. Ericksen, 18, 903 S. Fourth Ave., Libertyville; Taylor C. Zoll, 18, 1977 N. Royal Birkdale, Vernon Hills; Samuel T. Petersen, 20, 1025 Chatham Place, Vernon Hills; Erik S. Magnus, 19, 8 St. Ives Lane, Vernon Hills; and Jeremy K. Vavrik, 18, 4417 Appleton Drive, Vernon Hills, were arrested just after midnight July 16 and charged with criminal trespass to state-supported property after an officer found them at the Riverside Sports Complex, 870 Country Club Drive, police said. Their Mundelein court date was set for Aug. 13.

•Victor J. Gonzalez, 21, 563 Dover Court, Buffalo Grove, was arrested around 3:30 a.m. July 19 and charged with illegal transportation of open alcohol and driving under the influence after a traffic stop on Route 45 at Hickory, police said. His Waukegan court date was set for Aug. 15.

Round Lake Beach

•Vandals wrote graffiti overnight July 12-13 on a shed at Dairy Queen, 707 W. Rollins Road, and on the building and two vehicles at Color Tyme, 715 W. Rollins Road, police said. Damage estimates were not available.

•Crystal N. James, 20, 215 Nippersink, Round Lake, and Lindsey R. Braun, 20, 715 Nippersink, Round Lake, were arrested around 7:50 p.m. July 14 and charged with retail theft after a security agent for Super Kmart, 400 E. Rollins Road, saw them take merchandise and leave without paying, police said. Their court date was not available.

Vernon Hills

•Yevgen Kozionnyi, 17, 103 Burnside Court, Vernon Hills, Michael A. Garcia, 17, 331 Sutcliffe Circle, Vernon Hills, two 16-year-old boys and a 16-year-old girl were arrested July 15 and charged with possession of tobacco by a minor after an officer found them smoking cigarettes at Vernon Hills High School, 145 N. Lakeview Parkway, police said. Their Mundelein court date was set for Aug. 18.

•Bessy R. Castro, 30, 915 W. Ridgeland Ave., Apt. 3, Waukegan, was arrested July 20 and charged with retail theft and criminal defacement after a security agent for JCPenney in Westfield Hawthorn mall saw her take jewelry and perfume and leave without paying, police said. Her Mundelein court date was set for Aug. 18.

Wauconda

•Mario Edgar Martinez, 20, 1016 Grant Place, Wauconda, was arrested July 13 and charged with criminal damage to property and minor consumption of alcohol at 461 W. Liberty St., police said. His Mundelein court date was set for Aug. 27.
