Bicycle Club of Lake County "Singles Ride": 9 a.m. July 26, Aug. 23 and Sept. 27, Meet at the Old School Forest Preserve in Libertyville, St. Mary's Road., 1 mile north of Route 60 at the "Trails" parking lot. 12-15 mile trail ride at a "conversational" pace of 12 mph on crushed limestone trails for singles of all ages. No one will be left behind. Helmets are required. There will be an opportunity for socializing after the ride. Northwest Suburban Astronomers Public Star Party: 7 p.m. July 26, at Marengo Ridge Conservation Area, Shelter 2, two miles north of the town of Marengo on the east side of Illinois Route 23, McHenry. Look at the stars, galaxies, nebulae and star clusters with the help of NSA member telescopes. Bring warn clothing, insect repellent and flashlight covered with red plastic or cellophane. Free event.
