Wing Fest brings back tasty fun for a good cause

One of Schaumburg's most fun summer traditions is just over a week away.

The Woodfield Area Children's Organization's annual Wing Festival will be held from noon to 5 p.m. July 27 at the Alumni Club, 871 E. Algonquin Road in Schaumburg.

Attendees 21 years old and up are invited for an afternoon of sampling tasty chicken wings from many area restaurants and casting their vote for People's Choice Award.

For a $20 donation, visitors will get an unlimited supply of wings from the participating restaurants, as well as two drink tickets, chances for raffle prizes and live musical entertainment.

This is the eighth consecutive year that this fundraiser for WACO's numerous programs for children in need will be held rain or shine.

In addition to the People's Choice Award, a panel of judges will be naming winners in four taste categories - mild, hot, extreme and creative.
